The company, officially called Tabacalera Fernandez, traces its roots back to Cuba, where Abdel’s grandfather created the original San Lotano brand. After moving to Nicaragua in 2003, AJ Fernandez built his factory in Estelí, starting with just six rollers. Today, he runs one of the largest and most respected cigar operations in Nicaragua, crafting cigars that are sold in over 30 countries.

AJ Fernandez is celebrated for his ability to combine Cuban heritage with Nicaraguan terroir, producing cigars that are rich, complex, and consistently high-rated.
